Healing The Hurt of Domestic Violence
Campaign
A Better Way Ministry Inc.
Joins the Efforts to Help End Domestic Violence.
Imagine a single day where women and men, teenage girls and boys, grandmothers and grandsons turn to each other and actually talk about a problem that is more common than breast cancer and more insidious than AIDS. A problem that by its nature, makes people uncomfortable: domestic violence. Now imagine a day when we won’t need to talk about domestic violence ever again.
My name is Evangelist Janice Ward and I am the founder and executive director of A Better Way Ministry Inc. Our mission is to address the faith based and general community leaders to aid them in the eradication of domestic violence. We hope to accomplish this feat through training, awareness, education and prevention campaigns. Our current awareness campaign is the Silent Witness Project. The Silent Witness Project is part of a national initiative to remembe
r those murdered in acts of domestic violence. Silent Witness exhibits have been created in all 50 states to bring attention to the serious consequences of violence against women.
The national goal since 1990 is by the year 2010 there will be no more deaths attributed to domestic/family violence. The exhibit is made of life-size wooden figures, each representing a man, woman or child who once lived, worked, had neighbors, friends, and family before their death. On each figure, a note provides information about that person's case. The Silent Witnesses were displayed at Purdue Calumet at the CLO concourse Tues, April 22-Thu, April 24 2008 by invitation of Nicky Ali Jackson, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Criminal Justice Department of History and Political Science Purdue University Calumet. We also displayed our witnesses at various programs and events throughout Northwe
st Indiana!
Police, women’s shelters and government officials alone cannot prevent men from abusing the women they claim to love (or, in statistically far fewer cases, women from abusing the men they claim to love). But everyone can take this initiative and make it their own – helping to reach a community of people otherwise silent. This important issue is already on the minds of American women: US Department of Justice Bureau of Statistics Intimate Partner Violence in the United States December 2006 revealed that 82 percent of women consider violence against women a top concern—above improved education, above child safety, above environmental damage. In hopes of raising awareness of and getting people talking about, this pervasive social issue we would like to announce our upcoming campaign “Healing the Hurt” of domestic/family violence. Please join us in making this dream a reality.

In His Service,
Evangelist JaniceWard

In the spirit of the Silent Witness Project A.B.W.M started our Screaming Silent Voices Project. This exhibit displays three painted (red) heads symbolizing women, children and men who suffer through Family & domestic violence relationships. Their cries must be heard.
Domestic violence is not just a family issue or a private matter. It is a community matter. We are issuing a public call to heed to the silent cries of sisters, brothers, fathers, mothers, elders and our children.
Everyone deserves to live freely from violence and fear.
We must be vigilant and aware to care enough to help end the silence of Family violence. Help in the fight against Family / Domestic violence.
Sunday, August 8th, 2010. A Better Way Ministry INC. attended the W.O.W Gospel Fest in East Chicago. The fest was beautiful . Many vendors were present along with many in fest goers! Our display was set up with our latest campaign
